I know what it’s like to be committed to working on yourself, and still not see the changes you want.

I spent years in therapy — not really getting better — thinking I was the problem.

I was dedicated. I wanted to change. And while I never lost hope that I could move past my challenges and trauma, the insights I gathered early on in therapy never seemed to add up to actually feeling or doing any differently.

And yet I kept going. I was persistent!

I graduated from college, got a job in mental health support for at-risk youth, and proceeded to become a licensed counselor. But as much as I believed in the idea of therapy, my experience on the other side of it made me secretly skeptical.

I genuinely wanted to do the work and get better. I knew everything there was to know about my story. Yet according to the traditional model, I was “resistant.”

I would blame myself, tell myself I wasn’t ready, that it was my fault I wasn’t getting results — which was really damaging to my sense of self.

I knew there had to be a better way to help, and be helped.

After many years in the field, I found a community of researchers and psychotherapists who were doing therapy differently.

I became a Feedback-Informed Therapist and dedicated myself to training in the most effective brain-body methods for helping clients get not just insights, but outcomes.

A BIT MORE ABOUT ME PERSONALLY…

I believe humans are amazing. I really do. I want to help us all see that about ourselves, without holding us to superhero expectations.

I owe a lot to nature. The outdoors is my healing room. I love backpacking, hiking and back-country skiing.

People are often shocked: I’m an introvert! Yup. I rejuvenate myself in quiet places, in solitude. Learning to meet our needs is a journey. I’m here for it!

I love to travel. I’m endlessly curious to understand different cultures and communities, and why they work the way that they do. Oh and to eat really good food and drink good coffee!

I can spend hours on Reddit: I truly love reading other people’s opinions and perspectives on any number of topics. Last month it was vacuums this month it is mattresses.

  • I’m trained in Brainspotting, EMDR therapy, and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, so we can change the way we feel and react at a deeper neural and embodied level.

  • I’m not here to interrogate you. I don’t just stare blankly as you spill. My goal is to engage you in a customized way, based on your capacity and preferences.

  • I am a Feedback-Informed Therapy Practitioner. I check in every session and adapt my methods as we go to make sure they are truly making a difference for you.

  • I believe it’s possible to start feeling differently relatively early on in therapy (you don’t have to “get worse” before you get better) and I’m committed to figuring out what will work for you sooner than later.

  • I never assign homework or practices that aren’t actually doable for you. Instead, we find manageable steps to change the way you feel, so you can live the way you want.

  • I’m available to work in the way that’s best for you. Want to bring in a partner, parent, or best friend? Great. Prefer a 90-minute session? Perfect. Need to meet every other week? No problem. Or get through your specific challenge in a 5-session intensive? You bet.
